Health and safety advice for a road trip around Indonesia

Traveling around the world is the best way to spend your hard-earned cash. You are working all day long for years and that time has finally come-you decided to take a whole month off! You feel too much stress all the time so you need this trip to be as good as possible so we want to share with you a couple of great stories and advice to make your vacation healthy and safe.

Bali

Road trip around Indonesia is not just an ordinary vacation. This place is so wild and unknown and as much as it is refreshing, it is also not that safe. What people take care of the most is health, as they should! Sometimes health insurance is enough and covers it all but when it comes to Indonesia, there are a lot of rules you should follow. First of all, you will spend a lot of time outside when your adventure is a road trip. Outdoors is exciting but danger hides around every corner. Let’s talk about water first. At home, you have no problems with tap water and you know that it is safe to drink it. But in many parts of Asia, tap water is only used for dishwashing. And you should remember this. Stack up with bottled water as soon as you land and you are good to go. If you want to play brave and drink it, expect a severe case of a stomach flue at the least. Imagine what else can come your way.

Bali

Food is so colorful and tasty that very often you get carried away. Be careful and keep your eyes wide open. We know that sometimes it is difficult to choose a good restaurant or a place to eat on a road trip but at least try. Street food is really popular and we recommend you to try it starting with the less spicy one. Your stomach is not used to those spices and ingredients but in a couple of days, you will be like a native.

Lost in the wild is not a headline in the news you want to read which is why you should try and always let someone know where you are headed. If that is too exhausting then always stick to the well-known paths. Don’t just wander off into the wilderness since there are no many places wilder than Indonesia.

All in all, it is a trip worth going on. If you still feel like you are not experienced enough then don’t rush it. Choose a couple of more trips before this one and when you finally get to the point in your life when you need to run away, let it be Indonesia!
