USA is a very large country located in North America and often known as the US, the United States, the States, or simply America. US house the third-largest population in the world and comprises of some densely populated cities that have sprawling suburbs as well as vast naturally beautiful uninhabited areas. Different cultures are represented in the country owing to its long history of immigration of people in mass numbers since the 17th century. US is very popular for the many tourist destinations found here ranging from Chicago and Manhattan skyscrapers to some of the world’s most reputable natural wonders of Alaska and Yellowstone and the sunny, warm beaches of Southern California, Florida and Hawaii.

USA is more than what is represented in the movies as it is a diverse, large and complex country with distinct regional identities. The vast distances of the country makes traveling from one region to another both expensive and time-consuming. One of the most popular regions in America is New England, home to Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Connecticut among others.

This region is best known for its gabled churches and rustic antiques. It offers spectacular seafood, beautiful beaches, frequent winter snows, rugged mountains, and some of the oldest cities in the nation. Other regions that are equally popular among tourists in the US include the Mid Atlantic region, South, Florida, Midwest, Texas, California, and others. There are more than 10, 000 villages, towns and cities in the US and all of them have something distinctive to offer tourists.

The national capital, Washington D.C is filled with many monuments and museums together with multiple cultural communities. Boston city is highly popular for its great passion for sports while Chicago is famous for many architectural gems including the massive skyscrapers. Los Angeles city is regarded to be the home for the US film industry, artists, surfers, and musicians and has great natural beauty thanks to the surrounding beaches and mountain ranges.

Miami is a hot destination for sun-seeking travelers and is largely influenced by the Caribbean culture. Other major US cities that attract millions of tourists every year are such as New York City, Phoenix, San Francisco, and Seattle. Las Vegas is referred to as the gambling city and houses about 20 of the world’s biggest hotels and very popular for its endless nightlife, casinos, and shows.

Travelers are not just interested in visiting the cities only as other notable attractions are located outside the cities highlighted above. The Denali National Park for example is a remotely located national park and hoe to the highest peak in North America. The Grand Canyon is quite famous with many tourists for being the longest, most visited canyon in the world.

The Mesa Verde National Park has Pueblo cliff dwellings that are well protected. Others include Mount Rushmore, Niagara Falls, the Great Smoky Mountains Park, Walt Disney, Yellowstone National Park, and Yosemite National Park. Even though visa requirements for entering the US are quite complicated and exceptionally onerous, it remains as one of the world’s most visited destinations.
